For a moment, please imagine where will you be in 2050, and what will you be doing. Except if you say you’ll be probably dead, I’m pretty sure I can say you are wrong. At least, if we, in sense of all the mankind, don’t do something now.

Some time ago scientific community told the world that polar bears are losing weight, because of the global heating. They say the bears are not able to find food enough. I say the bears are refusing to find food. The Nature is telling us: “hey, human beings, take a look, it’s a warning: there are wild animals that would rather starve to die, because they know there’s no future if you don’t change the state of the things”.

Someone has to act now to prevent the planet life from disappearing. There is still hope for us, but we must stop being lazy. And someone is not Green Peace, WWF, or any environmentalist group. Not only them. You and I have to do our part, too, in order to save our asses.

If you happen to still be reading, thanks a lot! It’s fine to know that you don’t think I’m stupid for facing things this way, or if you think I’m stupid at least you respect my dullness.

I think you have a family. If you’re not the kind of person who will marry and have a lot of kids, you must have a boy or girlfriend, brothers and sisters, their kids, your parents. Think of them in forty years, and try to figure how they will survive without water; without oxygen enough in the atmosphere; in a heat of 50 grades Celsius in winter. Is this the future you wish them?

I’m not going to tell you what you’re supposed to do. You know every single word I could speak, and speaking does not make the difference. Acting does. If you cannot keep yourself from using manufactured products all the time (I can’t imagine my life without computers, cell phones, and so on), begin finding alternatives for them.

For instance, you don’t have to drink soda all the time. Because you know the plastic bottles will last making the soil dirty for centuries. And you don’t have to use your car every single time you have to move from a location to another. Have you ever thought of a bicycle? Because you know what happens to the residues of the burnt of the combustible: they go straight to the air you breathe.

The Earth needs help. The whole mankind is destroying the planet, and the same mankind has the obligation of leaving for the future generations a planet at least as fine as it was one generation ago. We must stop spending time blaming people, the governments, the industry, and looking for our own responsibility, every single moment.

I believe we can start a revolution, right now. I’m taking the pledge (with myself) of rethinking the way I’ve been abusing the planet; the way I’m contributing to the destruction, to the waste of natural resources. If you do the same, we are two already. If a friend of ours does the same, too, we’ll be four, probably. And like a virus, a virus for good and reconstruction, this idea can take the people who have the power to stop the degradation, and our sons and grandsons will have a hope.

I really, really believe what I’m saying, with all my heart. And I’m truly concerned about the future, far beyond next elections, or how to find a job that pays more. I think we all owe gratefulness for all we have for free, specially water. And the way we must show such gratefulness is saving our asses from burning in the surface of the planet as if we were actually in hell.

If I was the Nature, I would certainly be saying now: “I’m counting on you, please don’t disappoint me”.
